About Beth Madison Photography

Beth Madison Photography is pretty much me, Beth Madison.  About ten years ago, I launched my current – but not my first – photography business, as a family and corporate photographer serving Fairfield County and Southern Westchester County.  (My first photography business was when I was sixteen.  I did children's informal/candid portraits.  I shot film; developed and printed everything myself.)

Looking for photography?  Here’s how it works.

I do both family and business photography.

 Options:

My clients can come to me at my north Stamford studio

Here, my clients can choose from indoor studio photography, outdoor portrait photography, or a combination.  Along with different options for outfit changes, sessions are available in a range of price points.

  •  Studio sessions create beautiful, clean, classic images, usually on white, black or grey background, but with other options as well.  In the studio, I can create images on a variety of backgrounds in optimum lighting conditions.

  •  Outdoor sessions against the wooded, scenic background here at my studio provide a warm setting for relaxed social media, family, and pet portraits.

I can go to your location

Whether at your home, the beach, park or corporate event location, I can bring my skills to you, even re-creating the studio experience at your home, if you wish.

What kind of photography

  •  Family photography, including maternity, newborn, baby, one and two year olds, toddlers, children, teens, adults, families, engagements, and, of course, pets!

  •  Business photography, including headshots for business and social media, photography for websites, product photography, and business event photography – the kind that captures the excitement and personal relationships that drive business.

A personal approach

I work with every client from start to finish.  I will listen to what you have in mind, offer suggestions if you like, and create a plan for our session.

I will do all your photography, post-processing and editing, and any printing by hand.  I work with each file to create the best possible image for you.  It’s an art, because there are many possible ways to finish each image.  I always shoot RAW, of course, since it allows the most control.

Although I finish each image, including retouching as needed, if you see anything I’ve missed, just let me know.  I can finish your images with a range of retouching options as well.

At Beth Madison Photography, I don’t just record; I create a visual story of the emotions and memories of a moment.  I bring my artist’s eye, creative talents and attention to detail to each project, and I am satisfied with nothing less than excellence.

About Beth Madison

I have always been interested in art, and found photography a wonderful means to express my artistic sensibilities.  I started my first photography business at the age of sixteen, taking portraits of neighborhood children and pets.   I studied photography and writing at Sarah Lawrence College, and studied photography further at ICP (International Center of Photography, NYC) and Silvermine Art Guild (Norwalk, CT), among others.   I regularly attend advanced workshops to keep growing as a craftsman and an artist.  I have taught and mentored in photography; I have published fine art photography; and I have shown and won awards in a variety of venues.

When I began my commercial photography business, I was motivated by the power of photography to create “mindful moments.”  In all my photography, whether family or corporate, I seek to capture and showcase the truly meaningful things in our lives: the emotional connections we have with those around us, and all the mundane, overlooked, beautiful things of nature and otherwise that surround us every day.  When I look at a photograph, I am transported back to that moment.  That’s powerful.
